The Beginning

LATENIGHTJACE is a rapper/singer/songwriter that was born in Brooklyn, New York. There he discussed interest in becoming a rapper and his father. So he booked him in a near by studio. Later moving to Atlanta, Georgia with his family, the artist still had a great interest in becoming a rapper. One of the first songs that gained people’s attention in his area was a song called Al Capone. The song was released while LATENIGHTJACE was in high school and got attention from not just his peers but from music producers, and record labels. ( The song has since been deleted from SoundCloud ).

The love he got from his peers the artist go harder and he wanted to release a full body of work. While in college LATENIGHTJACE met a music producer named Justyin The Composer while in math class and the producer would go on to produce his EP, The Darkest Phase. ( The EP has been deleted off of SoundCloud, but singles from the EP can be found on streaming services and the full project can be found on LATENIGHTJACE’s YouTube Channel. The only song that remians on SoundCloud from the EP is Gotham City )

Joins Nightlight Records

The Darkest Phase was fully released, and completed by 2017, the artist would go quiet for the next two years. He rarely was on social media, and didn’t put out any music at all. Somewhere in those two years a friend of his came to him with the idea of joining his record label, NightLight Records. Jace accepted the offer and the two would start making music. One song that came out of the two’s recording session was a song titled Supernova “Extended”. The song was released in early 2019 on SoundCloud, it had been about two years since the Jace put out any music. The song was received well, then in late 2019 Jace in a interview with an internet blog said that he was working on his next project 3000 Miles Away. The EP would officially come out in February 2020. Blogs & a Chicago radio station picked up the tape and the taped seems to be gaining some listeners.

It was then the artist would describe what was really going on in the tape. He explained on social media how during the years he was not making music he was very inspired by alternative rock, and emo rap. So that the EP embodies that, also that in his writings he came up with an alter ego. A person who is constantly chasing females and it leads no where so it kind of bothers him, and a person that is very emotional and deals with tons of toxic females. The name he would come up for this person is Heartbreak Jace. He explained that is the more emo/darker side of him and instead of just rapping he would use melodies to truly describe his emotions or the way he feels. This “Heartbreak Jace” character would come to full effect of the next EP he would drop no so long after.

Horizon

After releasing 3000 Miles Away after in February 2020 the artist would drop another body of work titled Horizon. The lead singles from the EP would be called Lonely Son and Carry On. This Heartbreak Jace alter ego of LATENIGHTJACE really would come threw on these songs. The music was getting darker and way more melodic. A blog described Lonely Son as “a dark melodic ballad, that is conveying the listeners that is ok to show your emotions”. As of today Carry On is LATENIGHTJACE highest streamed song, sitting just over 70k on SoundCloud. The EP Horizon would drop in April, it was dark, very dark, and melodic. On songs like All The Time the artist would turn from rapper to pop star with the singing vocals over a beat that sounds like it can be played in an upscale nightclub in the middle of the city.

Weirdo Tape

As spring ended and with two EP’s out, many might of thought that might be it for Jace as he had put out a good amount of music in 2020. But to the surprise the artist would drop another EP over the summer, titled Weirdo Tape. He would go on TikTok previewing a song called Night Mission, and explained how the tape was meant for his artist to embrace their weirdness. Pretty much saying be you, and don’t change for the world. Unlike his last two bodies of work, Jace would drop the melodic flows and come back rapping.
